The Spring semester is winding down to a close. Finals are next week and then 2.5 weeks later I will begin my study abroad 'USF in Paris Art History' summer program. I will be spending 30 days in Paris, France and then an additional 6 days in Venice, Italy for the Beinnale. As a summer coarse this class is worth 4 credits and the additional Venice excursion is an additional 3. This class counts as part of one of my doubled majors, Art History and the Venice excursion is part of an extended studies exit requirement.
I created this blog for myself to document my travels and I invite you to join me by reading it. I am going to try to post as frequently as I can along with pictures, my thoughts on the sites visited that day and how it is adapting to Parisian culture.
As a student, we will be visiting several major points of interest; The Louvre, Rodin Museum, along with many others and I want to surprise you, so I am not going to list them all here. There are planed weekend excursions that are part of my trip but not mandatory, although I plan on doing all of them. There are roughly 7 free days scattered throughout the month that I will be able to enjoy Paris on my own.
I would like to thank some people that without, this trip would not be possible. My mom and dad for paying the deposit back in January, my Uncles Bill and Paul for making a contribution to the "Send Ona to Paris Fund 2011" along with Kharyssa Rhoads, my first anthropology professor turned great friend for also contributing to "The Fund", and Tim Dutta, of The Dutta Corporation for a flight back and forth over the great pond.
I know that I am starting to post early as we are a few weeks away from take off, but I better get into the habit of posting a blog so I figured I would start now. The post will be few and far between from now until late May when I depart JFK airport for Paris, but once I land I will do my best to post regularly.
