The other day I spoke to the company that is flying me abroad. The original thoughts were, I would fly from JFK in NYC to Amsterdam with a load of horses and then take the Rail Europe train to Paris, it is a 3 hour ride South through Belgium. Then upon finishing class in Venice, I would have jumped on an EasyJet and flown back to Paris and taken the train back to Amsterdam to fly home with some horses (there are no direct flights to Amsterdam via plane from Venice, the train makes more sense from Paris.
Well, as luck would have it, there are no planes scheduled to depart Amsterdam when my class end on July 6th., so I will be forced to stay in Europe for an extra 6 days; I know, its horrible, believe me I am not happy about it at all ......no I am totally kidding ! I AM SO EXCITED! My friend Sabina who lives in Sweden offered me a place to stay for my extended travel. I have never been to Sweden before, and to think about it, I have not been to France or Italy before either. This whole trip will be entirely new locations for me, well, with the exception of Schipol Airport in Amsterdam.
So after class departs the hotel in Venice on the 6th of July and we all go to Marco Polo airport to fly home, I will be flying to Stockholm instead. Sabina lives on the opposite side of the country so I will get to see a large part of Swedish countryside on my travels to her house. I will be departing from Gothenburg City in the Southwest side of Sweden to fly back Amsterdam and pick up my horses to fly home back to JFK.
The hardest part of the trip is going to be packing. I am only allowed one large bag and I have to pack for 3 different weather conditions. Layering and clothes that all kind of match will be my approach to this.
