boat tour and walked Montmarte

Today we gathered as a large group, all 45 of us and received maps, and directions on where to get things, general knowledge of the areas where we are staying, yadda yadda yadda.  After that we split off into smaller 10 person groups so we could be taught how to use the metro, RER, and bus systems.  Its easy; there are maps posted on walls and everything is clearly marked.

In our small groups we traveled to Montmartre, which is the highest hill section in Paris; to over look the city.  It was beautiful.  Then after walking around that area we all regathered as a group and took a boat tour down the River Seine.  I really enjoyed that.  So, if the pictures look like they are taken from down below, that is because I am down in a boat.

Today was a bank holiday and EVERY ONE was out and about; there were street bands, single musicians, mimes, and all kinds of people wanting to braid thread into your hair for 2 Euros.  I did not enjoy all the crowds, mostly because I still kind of walk funny do to the broken ankle.

Here are todays photos!
