For class today we went to Gustave Moreau's residence. When he willed his house and belongings to the state he stated that nothing could be removed, misplaced or taken out, so everything is how he left it when he died. The walls are covered with his art work and shown in a style similar to a salon exhibit, his downstairs apartments have everything as he left it, even the toilet is the same with the gravity tank above the toilet and the older fashioned sink. Afterwards we walked the 8th arr. we walked past 2 locations where Manet painted in his work as well has where he lived. We also went to a park where Marie Antoinette and Louis XIV's bodies where originally laid to rest before being moved to St. Denis where they still are today. We feasted on delicious pastries, window shopped in the 9th and ended our tour at the Opera House. I am now off to have ice cream at Bertillon at Notre Dame.
We also went inside St. Augustus and St. Trinity.
I love Gustav Moreau!
