First day of Summer

Today is the longest day of the year and tonight is the shortest night. Paris celebrates the coming of summer with fete de la musique.  The city had live. local bands play all night long, and in to the morning.  There was also a strike along 2 of the most used metro lines and a fire in another very popular metro line.  This problem caused havoc with commuters.  Buses were jammed packed and the streets are full of people enjoying free music.  I am laying in my bed and I can hear at least 3 different bands.  My ankle is not happy with me after walking around barefoot in the Turkish Bath yesterday so after class I retired back to my room after eating dinner out with the girls.
For class today my group and I presented our museum to the class.  Our museum was Quai Branley which is in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, with the strike going on, a 15 min metro ride turned into a nearly 2 hour bus ride.   I do not have any photos today since I was presenting and the second museum on the agenda today did not allow photography at all.
The second museum has the largest Monet collection and it is quite impressive.  The museum also houses a great collection of illuminated manuscripts and 17-18 cent. furnishings.  Most of the pieces in the museum were donated to the collection.

So, although I do  not have "new" pictures for you, here are some of my favorites.
