a word to the wise...

Washing your clothes in a sink to save money on a laundrette is a great idea; using dish soap because its cheaper than laundry soap is not a great idea.  Your clothes will become as stiff as a board; ask me how I know.  On to the good stuff.

Today about 7 students and I went with Lou, our program director and Noelle one of the profs. to the open air market on Rue Mouffetard.  We walked about 8 mins East from my residence to the rue where we enjoyed a cafe before shopping for delicious foods for our dinner picnic.  Being surrounded by freshly made pastries, breads, roasting chickens, just picked locally grown fruits and vegs, our senses were over whelmed.  Lou and Noelle took the lead with 8 wide eyed students in tow.

Once all the shopping was finished we watched local French men and women sing traditional songs and dance in the square.  The walk to and fro was full of sites to see as well.  Street art is everywhere in Paris and some of it is really great.  I am trying to capture all that I can.

Once all the other students and profs. joined us in the park for the picnic the feast was devoured in no time flat.   Here is the feast for you eyes.
