I have missed some small details in the past few days since 'class' is over and we have free rein on such a great city. On Monday (6-27-2011) we gathered as a smaller group and Lou, Maryann and Wendy went over what to expect for our departure to Venice on the 1st of July, we also did class evaluations and study abroad evaluations. After filling out the evaluations we all gathered outside in the Luxembourg gardens for a group photo 47 students in total with 3 instructors along with Lou the director and Maryann, his wife and assistant. I will receive a copy of the group photo in a week or to via email and post it.
After lunch I asked A, my instructor if she would like to 'hang out' in the afternoon. Unbeknownst to her, the class and I arranged a reservation at Angelina's Tea House over by the Louvre. A has been teaching this class in Paris for 9 years and has always tried to get to Angelina's for their famous hot chocolate, but for some reason as never made it there. All 13 girls sat in anticipation of her arrival. Bear in mind that its over 95*F here in Paris, a heat wave and A/C is very uncommon and I am asking this woman to follow me though a hot metro system that is teaming with tourists. A figures out where we are headed by the exiting metro station but the look on her face when I lead her up to our table with all her 'girls' there is priceless. We all looked great, all dressed up from our group photo earlier that day and we have come together to celebrate such a great woman that lead us through Paris for the last 30 days.
A received a card with the Museum d' Orsay's elephant on the front, the elephant we all were to met at, and a beautiful scarf.
Thank you A for an outstanding month of June in Paris, it is one that none of us will every forget!
