A free Saturday

Most of our weekends and "free" time is taken up by optional trips.  Today's optional trip was biking along the Seine and since my ankle has been giving me problems, I decided not to join the groups and go biking, it was 18 miles round trip.  Instead I went back to the Louvre.  I got up nice and early so I could get there when it opened up at 9am, and there was already a line.  It moved along fairly quickly and before I knew it I was inside buying my ticket.  I was on a mission!  I wanted to see so much and my ankle was already yelling at me; I mapped out my route and set off.  My first stop to the Italian Painters, then on to Spanish painters and a quick sneak peek at 1300's altarpieces and finish with Northern European sculpture.  There is still one wing that I have not seen, I am going to try to make it back next week, but we will see.  After my whirl-wind adventure at the Louvre I hopped on 3 metros to the Quai Branly Museum, it is my group project location and I needed to visit it again.  I got caught in the rain, but it was pleasant and I did not mind the quick walk under my umbrella.

I headed back in the direction of my residence and I dropped my broken shoe off at the cobbler, where he fixed my shoe for FREE!  After seeing all the great flowers at Monet's garden I stopped off at the fleur shop and picked up 2 roses to decorate my plain room.
